This was for me Digital Imaging class!!! We had to make a photo montage based on a quotes, lyrics, poem, proverbs or... you catch the drift . It's supposed to be a postcard sooooo... top is the front and bottom is the back.
And it's.... William Blake's line of poem, "How can a bird that is born for joy sit in a cage and sing?"
My weapons!!! = Photoshop CS2 & uber thankies to Kezia for loaning me her cam! (cuz I don't have one TT.TT).
So yea, it's mah own pictures, I'm a totally horrible photographer. If curious, view them HERE!!!
My concept *ahem*: It means depriving someone from their freedom; trapping something that is meant to be free. My idea is that we’re inside the ‘prisoner’s cell’. There’s a bit of a sky where pigeons are free to come and go, but the person is stuck behind its ‘cage’ (brick walls and tree branches to represent bars). She looks cold/frozen and unhappy. The white boxes over the mouth symbolizes that she could not sing, and even if she does, it’s without the heart in it. She’s turning away from the unreachable skies because the sight hurts her. She wants to look but daren’t. She doesn’t even want to listen to music (old vintage radio) because it reminds her of possibilities if she were free. The white flowers are beautiful but its colour suggests sorrow. She may be given the best ‘cage’ in the world, but nothing can be compared to freedom.
Hey! This is good!! I like the composition of the bottom part. Not 2 mention I'm a sucker for script fonts against a poetic background. Fave, and not just because you're my friend! Oh and I'm adding you to my Watch list, so be good... HAHAha

haha, the bottom part is just a section from the top. You'd notice the bird is looking to the left instead of right, because I forgot to flip the bird for the top one! hmm... flip the bird sounds funny, but nvm! lol
would you believe I took a day with other postcards while for this I took only a few hours? I wonder why my rushed work seems to be better than the rest TT.TT
and one more thing... OMG THANK YOU FOR THE FAVE!!! It's my first (^_____^)

nyek.
Your 1st fave? really? Oh well, maybe you need to put up more artworks...or maybe you could comment on other ppl's works, and when they see your username after a few times they might click on it. Some people even post things like 'Visit my gallery!' on their signature - haha! But apparently it works. I dunno, anything goes for the amateur artist, including shameless self-promotion. You know what Tommy did, he introduced one of the lecturers to his gallery (you can look for him here: gingertom84) and said 'here's my site, visit it everyday!' heheheh....
